I started making videos for publication on YouTube in 2009, and in the years since have used my self-taught video production and editing skills for personal expression, academic and pedagogical uses, professional marketing, and collaborative art projects.

My channel is called shessomickey after my high school nickname. I discuss current events, culture, scholarship, YouTube, my own life, and more. If you’re new to the idea of real people making videos on YouTube, check out the recommended channels in the sidebar of my channel page. I guarantee you’ll find someone worth watching.

In addition, I am a member of Wonderly, a network of female content creators. I also run a news and culture website called Wonkistan with my friend and collaborator Ivan, which you can learn more about here.

Make sure to subscribe to my channel if you like my work!
